Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Friday
announced the appointment of Malam Imam
Imam as his Special Adviser on Media and Public
Affairs.
The announcement is contained in a statement
personally signed by Tambuwal and issued in
Sokoto.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that
Imam was Tambuwal's media adviser while he
was the Speaker, House of Representatives, until
a few days ago.
In the statement, Tambuwal admonished Imam to
rededicate himself to his new assignment by
contributing positively to information management
in the state.
Imam, a former Group Politics Editor at THISDAY
Newspapers, was born on July 16, 1977 in Gboko,
Benue, but hails from Taraba.
He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in
Mass Communications from Kaduna Polytechnic,
Kaduna and a Post Graduate diploma in
Development Studies from Bayero University,
Kano.
Imam is a member of the Nigerian Institute of
Public Relations (NIPR), Nigerian Union of
Journalists (NUJ) and Nigerian Institute of
Management (NIM).
