Not less than 13 inmates have reportedly escaped after a prison break at the Koton Karfe Medium Security Prison in Kogi State.
The incident occured at about 7.10am on Saturday.
Three of the 13 inmates who broke out of their cells and escaped through the fence, are convicts.
This is about the third time a prison break is taking place at the Koton Karfe Prison.
Meanwhile, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello while inspecting the
prison, promised to collaborate with the Federal government to prevent a
reoccurence.
Unfortunately at the inspection, the Comptroller incharge of the broken
prison was absent despite the heralded visit of the Governor.
